“A Few Good Men” The Male Dolls of Madame Alexander tells the story of the male dolls created by Madame Alexander, the premier American doll maker of the 20th century.

From the start of her company in 1923 and over the next 67 years, Madame Alexander released 6000 costume designs for female dolls, featuring eighteen different face molds. Yet, during the same 6 years, she designed less than 100 male costumes and usually repainted female faces to portray her male characters

A Few Good Mean draws from museum and private collections to showcase these rare collectibles. It traces the lonely journey of Madame Alexander’s male dolls and explores this often overlooked aspect of her legacy.
