Gene Marshall Secret Sleuth Costume 16″

RETIRED 2002. Secret Sleuth is a simple, long-sleeved black crepe sheath topped by a short black-and-white plaid woven wool cape, lined in the same material. Circa 1948. The dress features patch pockets in the same fabric as Gene’s cape. A yellow scarf tied at the neck and yellow wrist-length gloves bring a splash of color to the ensemble. Gene sports a black-and-white check beret and carries a black box purse with gold closure. Ensemble includes black button earrings, black open-toed sling backs, and hose. Designer: Based on an authentic design provided courtesy of Valentino’s in Hollywood, California and interpreted by Tim Kennedy.
