Jemima is Once Upon a Time there lived a little girl in a small brick house in the middle of cornfields, thunderstorms and rainbows, meadow mice and hoot owls. She preferred to spend her days drawing cartoon characters and making up fanciful tales about them.
Inevitably, the Seasons Changed and she traveled to Faraway Lands aboard the Ship of Adulthood. When she finally landed again it was at an old homestead along with a husband and eleven children in her ship, some of them gathered from far and wide. Once again she spent her days creating imaginary friends and telling her children their stories.
That little girl was me! Those stories eventually materialized into clay characters born in the Doll Room and I have happily been creating original, collectible dolls since 2006. My days are spent lost in the world of doll making with my flockling surrounding me. A flockling of children and animals. Shoohoos and Jemima!
I live on a 100-year-old farmstead nestled between the Cascade Rain forest and the Pacific Ocean with my husband Gary, eight of our eleven children, six dogs, numerous barn cats, spring chickens, plump ducks, a grumpy old goat, and an odd assortment of wild critters who all call it home. Fifteen dearly loved grandchildren and their parents also consider it their second home.
This is where the stories of childhood are always in the making, and from those stories have now come Jemima!
Hope you love them too...
